Communications and Public Affairs Committee

The mission of the APR Communication & Public Affairs Committee is to support APR as The Voice of Plastics Recycling® with a commitment to the ultimate goal of increasing quality supply and demand through communication, education, and policy. The committee provides valuable feedback and insight into the development of:

  • Educational webinars and podcasts
  • Resources to promote plastics recycling, including marketing materials and messaging tools
  • Media relations with support from an established strategic communications firm
  • Legislative activity across the states and in Washington, DC

Members-Only Resources

APR provides communication tools members can use in their own content creation to explain how plastics recycling, alongside reduction and reuse, helps reduce plastic waste and fight climate change.

While Communication & Public Affairs Committee members are chosen via election, our Content Development Working Group is open to volunteers from the APR membership. Representing a variety of APR members across the value chain, this ongoing working group provides insights and feedback for APR’s messaging and communications around the latest themes and issues facing plastics recycling.
